Here’s a lovely set of traditional Irish blessings, highly suitable for weddings, funerals, the end of a concert, or generally for wishing people well. The mixed meter (alternating 3/4 and 4/4) and the elements of ostinato give the piece a calm, expansive feel. Ranges are modest (the low A in the bass part in bar 39 can be substituted with the A above) and well within the compass of most choirs.
You can view a setting of the same tune for treble voices and organ here.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
